Bagpipes may be used in funeral (or related) ceremonies in several ways.
Graveside -The bagpipes are used to lead the procession from the coach
to the graveside (Piping in
the Casket).
They may be incorporated at any time during the ceremony as additional music.
At the end of the service, as a salute to the deceased.
Church - Piping the deceased into and out of the church. This is frequently part of the service.
Anywhere Else - The pipes may be played at wakes or almost any place
having a special meaning
to the deceased or family.
