Bagpipes may be used in funeral (or related) ceremonies in several ways.
Graveside -The bagpipes may be used to lead the procession from the coach
to the graveside (Piping in
the Casket).
They may be incorporated at any time during the ceremony as additional music.
They may be used at the end of the service, as a salute to the deceased.
Church - Piping the deceased (and family) into and out of the church. This is frequently part of the service.
They may be incorporated at any time during the ceremony as additional music.
Anywhere Else - The pipes may be played at wakes or almost any place
having a special meaning
to the deceased or family.
